Prevalence of HSV‐1 was highest in the 65–74 year age range (85%) and in comparison with the youngest age group (25–34 years), the RR of HSV‐1 seropositivity was 1.25, adjusted for sex, geography, and Indigenous status. Women (80%) had significantly higher prevalence of HSV‐1 than men (71%) (adjusted RR 1.12).
Does herpes lessen with age?
