Hinge is launching a new feature today called We Met, which will let users rate their dates. Itll ask each person individually if they ended up going out with that match and whether that person is the “type of person theyd like to see again.” That response is then used to further hone Hinges matching algorithm.
Why does Hinge ask if youve met?
We Met helps us understand your dating journey as you move things off the app. A few days after exchanging phone numbers, well ask you a) if you went on a date and b) if your date is the type of person youd like to see again.
What dies we met do on Hinge?
The We Met in-app survey helps Hinge to learn a users type after their dates. As the community is currently dating from home, it now asks each person privately if a) they had a video or phone date with the person and b) if theyre the type of person theyd like to get to know better.
What happens when you hide a conversation on hinge?
The hide option allows you to remove a match from the main view in your matches drawer. If that person messages you, theyll “un-hide” and reappear at the top of your list.
Can someone see when youve read their message on Hinge?
As indicated above, Hinge doesnt have read receipts. You cant pay to get the feature either– unlike Tinder where you can pay to see if the other person has read your message or not. Hinge goes a step ahead to protect the privacy of its users and removing the read receipts feature is one of the examples.
